Pureed Carrots–Baby Food

Needed Supplies:

  • Blender
  • 2 Ice trays
  • Gallon sized zip sealed bag
  • Pot and steamer


  • Large bag fresh baby carrots


  1. Wash carrots
  2. Boil water in a pot
  3. Add carrots to the steamer and put the steamer on the pot
  4. Stir every 5 minutes or so until carrots are cooked thoroughlywp-image-1822324258jpg.jpg
  5. Dump carrots into blender
  6. Add 1/2 cup of carrot water to the blender
  7. Blend until smooth
  8. Pour puree into ice trays
  9. Freeze
  10. Once frozen, break the cubes and put them into the gallon bag. I note what kind of food and the date prepared on the outside of the bag. When you’re ready to use them, just pop however many cubes you want into the microwave (2 cubes=40 seconds), or thaw at room temperature.

Green Bean Casserole



  • 6 cans cut green beans, drained
  • 1 large can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 6oz container of fried onions
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 Tbsp pepper


  1.  Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2.  In a  9×13 glass baking pan, stir together:
    • green beans
    • cream of mushroom soup
    • milk
    • pepper
    • 1 cup fried onions
  3. Cook for 15 minutes, stir, and then cook for another 20 minutes.
  4. Add the rest of the fried onions to the top and bake for 5 minutes, or until the fried onions are to your desired crispiness. (Some of my family like them a little burnt :))


Cheesy Crockpot Potatoes and Sausage



  • 1 Bag frozen southern style hash browns
  • 2 Ropes Johnsonville summer sausage
  • 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 – 10 3/4 oz. cream of potato
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 cup milk


  1. Slice the sausage into quarters. Saute on medium heat for ten minutes.
  2. Add sausage, potatoes, 3 cups of cheese, cream of potato, pepper, and milk to the crockpot.
  3. Stir.
  4. Cook on high for 4-6 hours, or low for 6-8 hours.
  5. Can add one cup of cheese to the top if desired!


*This can also be made in a 9X13 casserole dish as well. Just add ingredients together, and bake at 375°. Add cheese at the last 5 minutes.
