Handprint & Pop-Up Heart Valentine

My son absolutely loves having his hand traced, so when this idea caught my eye while browsing through Pinterest, I knew we had to make them!

Here’s what you need:

  • Cardstock paper or thick construction paper (color is your choice)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers or crayons

How to make it:

  1. Start by folding your paper in half. Have your little one place their hand on the paper with the heel of their hand near the folded seam. Trace their hand. valentine-tracing-hand
  2. Cut out the hand print.
  3. Cut out a heart on a different color of paper.
  4. Let your little one color the handprint.
  5. Then, using your thick paper, cut a small strip about 1″ x 1/4″ thick. Next, you will want to bend the strip to where it looks like an accordion.valentine-how-to-accordion
  6. Glue one end of the strip to the middle of the heart and allow to dry. valentine-hearts-with-accordion
  7. Once dry, glue the other end to your handprint.
  8. Write a cute saying on the front and the inside.
    •  “Happy Valentine’s Day!”
    •  “We love you!”
    •  “You stole my heart!”
    •  “I heart you!”

I think it’s super cute to replace word’s like “heart” and “love” with the cut out pop-up heart! cute-pop-up-heart-valentine

Give to Mama’s, Daddy’s, Grandparents, etc. for Valentine’s Day. They will love and cherish this  keepsake valentine!

Tater Tot Casserole

Ever get home after a busy day and think, “what in the world am I going to make for supper?” Well, this meal is fairly quick to make, very filling, and you will have plenty of  leftovers for tomorrow!

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 bag mixed veggies (carrots, green beans, corn, peas)
    • you can use fresh or canned
  • 1 large can cream of mushroom
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 375°
  2. Brown ground beef, drain fat.
  3. Cook mixed veggies according to directions on bag. If you use canned veggies, they won’t need cooked. I personally like the frozen mixed veggies that you can just pop in the microwave and steam for 8 minutes.
  4. In 9×13 glass baking dish, add meat, veggies, and cream of mushroom. Mix well. Spread the mixture evenly in the pan and add a layer of  tater tots on top. You can add as many or as few as you like. This is what mine looks like:tatertotcasserolebeforecheese
  5. Bake for 35 minutes of until tater tots are golden brown.
  6. Add cheese on top. Bake for another 5-10 minutes. When your cheese is melted, it’s ready!
  7. Enjoy!
